
I have been working with the knife and a blending brush to get some nice texture in these paintings. Passing on my attempt at a more neutral palette, I jumped right in and opened up my ultramarine blue and cad orange, started mixing and “knifing”. Where I wanted a smoother flow, a blending brush and medium did the trick.
I also tasked myself to show a right to left movement in the clouds. My natural vision is left to right, as is evidenced by the majority of my landscape paintings, so, to keep things fresh, I opted for something new…at least for me. I think I like it!…from the studio
