Some things don’t go as planned, but take a turn…this time for the better. I began this painting, as I stated in my previous post, with Elephant Butte, NM in mind. It wasn’t quite developing that way, so I let it take it’s own route. As I looked at it after a break, I knew it was Abiquiu Lake. I think there are images that find a home in your head without a conscious effort and surface when you least expect it.
I posted today instead of waiting until Friday because I have a connection…somehow…with this painting. I delivered it to the gallery in Madrid and am actually missing it. If I had room in my house, I would bring it home, but I am overloaded with artwork at the moment. Hopefully it will find a home soon…from the studio

Really beautiful, Sue! I love all the works you have done with those colors. Carolyn
Thank you, Carolyn. I “see” things easily in this color combo and know I will continue with it in many more paintings. Sue
Love it!

Thanks again, Cynthia. I think I am gaining some traction on the landscapes…finding my wheelhouse in the long horizontal format. Sue
