I completed four new texile pieces that are going to Jupiter Fine Art in Gypsy Plaza, Madrid tomorrow. I am using my painted cotton in some different ways…some the same… as in the feathers in the next piece I will post.
I love the movement in this piece. Bringing the strips together with brads, eyelets, waxed linen ties and pounded felt, subtly encouraged the theme in the title, Ties That Bind. The wound purple tube of fabric acts as a spine to hold everything together, as different as the strips may be. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if bringing people together was this simple…from the studio
