I think this painting reflects what I have been seeing around Santa Fe for an entire month. The rain threatens…lots of noise and wind, but not a drop reaches the ground. VIRGA, rain that evaporates before reaching the ground, is visible all over New Mexico as storms pass through our state. It is most disappointing to see when it looks just yards from my very thirsty garden of trees, but never arrives.
Maybe my next painting should depict a true puddle forming soaker…hoping to see that soon…from the studio
Hmmm…maybe this detail shot would make a nice smaller painting…hmmmmmm…The big one heads to Tapestry Gallery in Madrid tomorrow.
