This piece is the third in my Carrying On series. I wanted to do something with more color and a bit of fun. This piece is still based on a parfleche form, saddlebags. I painted the fabric with circles and other curvilinear shapes to contrast with the “squares” of the woven strips…circles and squares. The welded base appears softer because of its curves as opposed to the straight and linear lines in my first piece in the series.
I added circular stitching to the quilting design on the fabric, again to help the piece look more casual and fun. I am happy with the result…Hoping you are all well…from the studio

Love new work. Your spirit seems to be singing. Hope you and Gerry are well. I’ve been getting lots of painting done and will start on some book projects soon. Love Mimi

We are both well. I have been catching up on paperwork and odd things around the house. I will get back to art next week. Keep painting and let me get a peek at what you are doing. Love you both, Sue
