A New Year

Happy New Year…a time to plan and start anew….and try for the first time to post from my iPad.

2013 been a very good year. I met many of my goals as far as my quilting is concerned. I entered shows and was accepted and made a point of attending the openings…all were a good time. I actually won an award, Best of Show, for my quilt CONFLICTED at the Chandler Center for the Arts “ARTrageous” quilt show…how exciting! (The photo above is from the show.). I had a quilt published in a national magazine and feel that my new style of work is being accepted by a varied audience…who could ask for more?? 2014…who knows?

I realize I have been rather quiet about my work over the past month. I am working on some quilts and vessels to submit to juries in January and I am not ready to make them public yet. I must admit, I so enjoy making the vessels!

As far as next year goes, I plan to do quite a bit of experimentation with different techniques. Recently, I had a wonderful play date to dye silk…a whole new wonderful world already incorporated into a new quilt. I think this dye technique on silk will be my best friend for a while.

I feel so fortunate to be able to spend my days painting, quilting and experimenting. When I am ready to share, you will be the first to know! 2014….let’s go!
