TIDAL POOL

TIDAL POOL is an assembly of 33 quilted 5×5 blocks. I used different linens, some discharged, netting and cedar blocks. Many years ago I took a trip along the Oregon Coast and visited many tidal pools and was fascinated by the life under and around the rocks and the tide that ebbed and flowed each day. I tried to capture that memory in this piece…barnacles, swirling water and rocks. The following photo shows the scale of the piece in relation to the ceiling and floor.
