A favorite done with gold metallic thread, covered by black and rust colored free motion stitching. I did many…hundreds…of stitched trees when I lived out East and traveled to do art fairs, something I loved to do. I haven’t done a fair in years, but might consider it again. I still have my tent!
Another newbie done with my OLD sewing machine…a real goodie. Unfortunately, the stitch selection screen does not work on the machine, but it stitches beautifully. A replacement screen is no longer made. I only use a straight stitch, so I don’t need to select any decorative stitches to do this work, BUT I do need the “needle down” selection (it makes the needle end in the fabric when I stop stitching). That keeps me starting again exactly in the same place, so the line continues fluidly. I can mess with the selection dial, jiggling and sporadically moving…a few encouraging words helps…and I can get it over to that icon…YEAH! I love this machine and the perfect stitch it makes and will take it with me on my next retreat where I hope to creat a few larger pieces. Wish me luck! …from the studio

Your trees are beautiful and totally beyond my comprehension! Thanks so much for sharing
Kristen,
Thank you for such a lovely comment. I think any type of sewing is a fascination to me and I never know where it will take me next!
