This is the second hanging basket in the Strings Attached series..BLACK HOLE. I used the same materials as in a few other baskets…zippers, waxed linen thread and industrial felt. One stitch of turquoise waxed linen thread at each intersection of the zippers keeps the basket in the wasp nest shape, yet it remains soft and flexible. The finished piece hangs from a wooden block on the wall.
I love the way the shadow behind the basket looks in this photo shot from the side…the straight on shot is okay, but not as dramatic. A closer look below…from the studio
