This painting found its way to Mostly Madrid last week. I tried many times to make a gentle shower…in paint…to look like a light sprinkle, but I didn’t have much success. This time it worked…but it was an accident.
I wanted to use my blending brush on the lower edge of the clouds, but my hand slipped as I touched the canvas with the brush. By a great stroke of luck, the paint on the tips of the bristles just skip grazed the canvas and created a beautiful shower. I could try to recreate this stroke and it may work….just very happy that it did this time.
I also delivered a painting that is quite different from the others. It was fun to work with a warmer palette and we will see if it appeals to anyone…other than me!…from the studio
