It’s the Blues!

EXUBERANCE…10x8x3 in acrylic shadowbox frame

I completed two textile constructions in basically blue…love blue and black together. In this piece, I used my printed canvas fabric as a starting place and then added the pale blue and white linen, the copper, a resin coated cholla stick, and a paper covered wire weaving attached with the turquoise cording. Some free-motion machine stitching and a few french knots add some structure.

The second “blue” has different components, but makes a good companion to EXUBERANCE.

JOY…10x8x3 in acrylic shadowbox frame

The base for this one is a black and white fabric that I quilted along the design lines and then finished the edges with a wispy blue angora yarn. A stitched piece of blue and black canvas, navy dyed cheesecloth, painted and stitched Peltex, and a rebar tie with raffia completes the construction. Both pieces are framed in an acrylic shadowbox frame and are available at Jupiter Fine Art in Madrid, NM….from the studio
