Rings ‘n Things

Sold

This is the second piece, titled RINGS ‘N THINGS, I made in this format…tall and narrow…a perfect fit for between windows or in a space that is just not wide enough for a larger picture. At 48x6x2 inches, I was able to combine many different fabrics, both those I painted and those I printed, woven cotton strips, burned canvas and burlap ribbon. I freemotion quilted the entire piece before applying it to the frame…a wooden substrate…firm and stable.

The first one, titled SYMPHONY, was constructed in the same way, same size, and same elements. I am currently obsessed with these, but am embarking on making smaller pieces…12×12 or 8×8…so that I can create a nice display of them in the gallery, JUPITER FINE ARTS in Madrid.

These are a continuation of techniques I used in some recent pieces that I made to go to the Synthesis Exhibit at the Capitol Rotunda Gallery.

To say the least, I am having a lot of fun…from the studio
