
I finished this piece, UNEARTHED, while in the studio today. Happily it will be available this weekend for the Open Studio. This is a piece that came together as I hoped…the quilting design has good movement, the copper pieces reflect the circular stitching, the netting is the color of patinaed copper and the circle (surprise) of newspaper yarn is central, but doesn’t take away from the other elements.
I like exploring different designs on similar size and shaped armatures. I think this size will be a contributing element in my mixed media work in the near future.
In addition to the Open Studios this weekend, the gallery has an opening for a show of NM artists that looks quite spectcular…Saturday 4-6. Why don’t you come to see both? Until tomorrow…from the studio
