TRAPPIST is a wall piece which started with found wire, shaped into a teardrop”ish” shape. I wove paper cord on the top and bottom areas and filled the middle with waxed cord embedded in paper.
The title, Trappist, has two loose references…the head pieces worn by the Trappist monks and a fish trap, woven with reed or wire and labeled with a copper tag.
This piece found a new home last week…with a fisherman…I know it will be happy there. More “wall wovens” to come…from the studio
