Shadow boxed Leaves

These leaves are painted, quilted to felt and cut out along the outer quilting line.  I then burned the felt backing just past the quilting lines.  I used the same process, but much larger, on leaves for a full size quilt.

I was lucky enough to find this shadow box frame.  I covered the back with a grey green linen, wired the twigs to each other, added the leaves and a small dragonfly and, viola, a new way for me to present quilted textiles.  I am very satisfied with the results…from the studio
